2018 Judge -- Xi Guo
Xi Guo, Signature member of NWS (National Watercolor Society) and NWWS (Northwest Watercolor Society), was born in Shanghai, China. She earned her BFA in oil painting from Shanghai Normal University. After completing graduate school at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in 2014, majoring in photography, Xi moved to St. Augustine, Florida.
Xi started to focus on painting with watercolor about seven years ago and soon became an international award-winning artist. Her major accomplishments in 2014 include winning the second place in the Watermedia Showcase Competition. In 2015, Xi’s two paintings were selected to exhibit in Royal Institute (R.I.) of Painters in Water Colours’ 203rd Open Exhibition. One of them won her a prize. Her paintings were chosen by R.I again in 2016 and 2017. Xi also won the Istanbul Excellence Award from 2015-2016 Shenzhen International Watercolor Biennial. In 2016, as a Winner of All-Media Competition in the Watercolor and Gouache Category. Meanwhile, Xi’s painting was accepted by AWS’ (American Watercolor Society) 149th international exhibition and the travel exhibition. Xi also won the Da Vinci Artist’s Merchandise Award at the NWS’ (National Watercolor Society) 96th Annual International Exhibition and earned her Signature Member status of NWS in the same year. Her painting, again, was selected by NWS in 2017 and won a cash prize. Xi’s articles were featured in the International Artist Magazine and the Art of Watercolor Magazine at the same year. Most recently, Xi’s painting was selected to be a part of American watercolor society’s 151st international exhibition.
Xi served as the Juror of the Nature and Wildlife show for the St. Augustine Art Association, Florida in 2016.
